CONGRAT'S TO WCSD HONOR BAND MEMBERS!

Results are posted! The following DRHS Band students were accepted, by audition, into the 2012 WCSD Honor Band. More students auditioned this year than in some past years combined, making the placement that much more competitive. Congratulations to ALL who auditioned!

Joey Cruz: 3rd part, clarinet
Nick Pavone: 2nd part, alto saxophone

FANTASTIC WINTER CONCERT!

The DRHS Jazz Ensemble, the Symphonic Band, and a double reed duet were the highlighted performances at the 2011 Winter Concert on December 14th. It was a festive, high energy concert that also featured the unveiling of the NEW! Damonte Ranch Fight Song. If you missed it, come hear the band play next Thursday, December 22, at the Damonte Ranch home basketball game versus Galena!

Thanks go out to our Chairperson, Heather Chavez, all the parents, and the band members for making this a great Craft Fair. Fun was had by all as well as being lucrative for our program. Bonus! Next year's is December 1st. Mark your calendars now!

Three in a row!

Damonte won their 3rd consecutive Medium Band Division state title this past Saturday at the 32nd annual Sierra Band Crusade.
Some other notes:
~ Damonte swept all caption awards for the first time
~ Second place overall for the 2nd time ever
~ Highest score ever at the SBC (75.80)
The parent turnout at the contest was astounding. Thank you to everyone for your continued support as we reach higher and higher.

WE WON! Out of 101 entries, Damonte Ranch came in first place overall with 1380 votes. We will be presented with a check for $2500 on Tuesday at 8:30am. The Dolans will be presenting the award to the Band. Again, your continued support, encouragement and passion for our program is not going unnoticed. You are ALL to be commended. And of course, we (the DRHS Band) thank you!

DMI is over. The feedback from participants, judges and spectators alike reflect a common theme of professionalism, organization and team work on the part of our DMI staffers & students. Congratulations to our Damonte Ranch family on a great event!

McQueen & Galena Contest a huge success!
|
----------------------------
Damonte's first performance of the year resulted in a "AA" Division win and an overall 2nd place placement. We were only 1.3 points from winning the show outright and were the highest scoring Nevada band in competition. Impressive to say the least.
Galena brought even a bigger thrill as Damonte won our first ever Grand Sweepstakes award, as the highest scoring band of all teh bands in competition! We also were awarded with 1st place Medium Band Division, outstanding percussion and outstanding visual.

BAND DAY RESULTS ASTONISHING!

Thank you so much to our Damonte Ranch & Curti Ranch neighbors! In a matter of 5 hours, we made $2880.43. Donation envelopes left at homes have made an additional $1285 so far. That's a total of $4165.43! Thank you Parents for your help as well!!
