BAND DAY
another huge success!

Our Double Diamond Band stepped up to the plate once again. We collected just under $2300 in 3.5 hours of door-to-door collections. Mail in donations have accounted for another $1500 to date, bringing our Double Diamond total to $4700. At our last count, there were over 2000 donation envelopes distributed as well.
So to date, between the two Band Days, we have had nearly $8350 in our hands from this fundraiser. And, we are still counting!
Thank you to all the parents who drove and the band kids themselves! A great day.

Two fantastic Drumline & Guard performances this past Saturday. Both Drumline and Guard took home first place awards!

ZONE CONCERT

The 2013 Zone Concert was simply outstanding! The 365 students in performance were truly top notch, both with their musicianship and overall demeanor.
Ready for this? The "Mad Minute" raised over $2700! A testimony to the AMAZING support of music in our schools!
The future of the DRHS Band program looks simply amazing!

A great representation for Damonte Ranch at S&E Contest, February 23rd. Nathaniel Reyes, bassoon, and the Damonte Percussion Ensemble I were selected to continue on to the state level, "Command Performance." This means a possible performance in Las Vegas in April!

Governor's Cup winners!

The Band capped off their undefeated season by staying that way. Damonte placed first overall at Saturday's Sierra Band Crusade, capturing the Governor's Cup Award as "The Best Marching Band in Nevada." This is the first time ever that a WCSD Band other than McQueen has won this prestigious award. It's also the fifth consecutive title in their respective division.
Our kids took the following awards in addition to the Governor's Cup: Grand Sweepstakes (highest overall score), 1st Place Open Division, and caption awards for best color guard, music & visual scores.
Our creed the past week has been "end the season with an exclamation point." The kids did just that.

Our fall marching season was capped off with an impressive performance by the Band at Mackay Stadium. Unfortunately, the football team fell a bit short of the Northern Zone championship, bringing an end to our season as well.

Dolan Automotive Group contest on Facebook: Winners Again!

We were once again in the top 20 of the Dolan Automotive Group Class Project. This means we will be rewarded the $2500 award that comes with a top 20 placement. This is the second year in a row to win a $2500 award from Dolan!
